Slava Kharitonenkov, RDN, CEDS
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Certified Eating Disorder Specialist
Beginning my career as an eating disorder dietitian in West Palm Beach, Florida, I dedicated myself to helping those on their journey toward eating disorder recovery. Early in my career, I discovered the profound impact this work can have and recognized the crucial need for male-identifying clinicians within the field. These two factors led me to find my purpose in the nutrition field. This passion propelled me to become a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), honored by the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. I then relocated to the Chicago area to continue my work as an eating disorder dietitian. During all of this, I have expanded my practice to serve states such as New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and South Carolina.
My approach is deeply personal, focusing on individual behaviors and emotions linked to food, shaped by my own experiences and cultural insights from summers spent in Russia. Holding a Master’s degree in Nutrition Science and with a decade of experience in the food service industry, my passion is to bring people together through the joy of eating—a path I discovered while overcoming my own GI complications, which were riddled with disordered eating tendencies fueled by diet culture
Whether it’s exploring diverse culinary traditions, immersing myself in nature with my pets, or advocating for inclusive care—especially for the LGBTQ+ community—my mission is to guide each person to rediscover comfort and joy in eating. I strive to help individuals embrace food not just as sustenance but as a celebration of life and diversityFeeling Overwhelmed With Food?

In our safe meeting space we discuss thoughts, feelings and emotions surrounding food. This way we can focus at the root of the problem rather than symptom management.
The meal plan helps to normalize a regular eating pattern. By following a meal plan you can build your life around being nourished while making sure you receive adequate nutrition. Over time, we can plan together on how to work with your meal plan to fit your schedule.
Nutrition is vital in eating disorder recovery. Without stabilization from nourishment, the therapeutic side of recovery can not take place. Therefore, to ensure you have a solid platform we need to work on your food foundations. Sessions are set on a weekly basis at first then as you stabilize they will move to bi-weekly to monthly.
