My Story
Vjatscheslav Kharitonenkov, MS, RDN/LDN,
Certified Eating Disorder Specialist
Food is my passion, let’s be honest. It wouldn’t be possible for me to be here if that weren’t the case. As far as our biology is concerned, we eat to function. Energy plays a pivotal role in our lives, but sometimes we lose sight of its importance or over value its benefits. It’s very common for some of us to skip meals and get into routines that may seem convenient or “idealized”, but are actually causing harm that we may not see at first glance. The mission of my work is to inspire and show individuals that they have control over their lives. Each goal can become something monumental for themselves, their families, and the world if they take small steps toward it.
I have always had an endearing relationship with food, so much so that bread was one of my first words. But it wasn’t too long ago when my relationship had been muddled with fear of its effects on my body. Calorie counting and nutritionally sound meals became my lifestyle. I figured that it was possible to have the healthiest life possible by sticking to a strict regimen. That schedule ended up becoming my routine, and by no means was that living.
From my journey, I have acquired the tools necessary for you to get help with eating disorders. This began with obtaining my Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University then going on to complete my Master’s at University of Alabama, Birmingham. I then began my career at an eating disorder treatment center which led to me dedicating my career to understand difficulties with anorexia, ARFID, binge eating disorder, orthorexia and the emotions that lead to disordered eating patterns.
I understand the desire to make sure a dietitian is the right fit thats why I offer a complimentary 15 minute to better understand your needs and to help support your journey. Unfortunately, I am currently not accepting new patients but am always willing to help to offer resources to the community therefore feel free to e-mail me to get referral for another dietitian or therapist.
